Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. If brining, do so 12-24 hours prior. Let the turkey rest at room temperature for 30 minutes before roasting.
  3. Combine softened butter with rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper, then rub the mixture all over the turkey.
  4. For added flavor, place carrots, onions, and celery at the bottom of the roasting pan and place the turkey on a rack above.
  5. Roast the turkey for 13-15 minutes per pound, aiming for an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Baste every 30 minutes.
  6. Once done, let the turkey rest for 30 minutes before carving.
