Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, grated onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Shape the mixture into 4 to 6 equal-sized patties, about ¾ inch thick.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high and lightly grease. Sear the patties for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until browned.
- In the same skillet, melt butter, whisk in flour to create a roux, and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in beef broth and then heavy cream. Add onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; simmer for 3 to 5 minutes until thickened.
- Place the seared patties in the prepared dish and pour the gravy over them. Top with mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving and garnish with fresh parsley.
