Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Press the tofu by wrapping it in a kitchen towel and placing a heavy object on top for about 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400°F (or air fryer to 375°F) while preparing spices and sauces.
  3. Cut pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes and toss in a mixture of cornstarch, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then coat in avocado oil.
  4. Spread seasoned tofu on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes or air fry for 12-15 minutes until crispy.
  5. Melt vegan butter in a saucepan, then whisk in hot sauce and maple syrup for buffalo sauce.
  6. Blend soaked cashews, water, lemon juice, capers, mustard, garlic powder, nutritional yeast, salt, and pepper until smooth for Caesar dressing.
  7. Toss cubed bread with olive oil, garlic powder, oregano, and salt; bake for 8-10 minutes for homemade croutons.
  8. In a bowl, toss chopped romaine with Caesar dressing and half the croutons, then top with crispy tofu and buffalo sauce, finishing with remaining croutons.
