  • 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper Adjust according to heat preference
  • 1 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika Regular paprika can be substituted
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder Fresh garlic can be used
  • 1 tsp Crushed Black Pepper
For the Coating
  • 1/3 cup Flour (All-Purpose) Gluten-free flour can be used
  • 1 cup Unsweetened Plant Milk Any plant-based milk works
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt Sea salt or kosher salt recommended
For Frying
  • 2 cups Canola Oil Or any neutral oil
For Tossing
  • Optional Sauces (BBQ or Buffalo) Choose based on preference

Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Drain and rinse the canned green jackfruit thoroughly, then cut into wing-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, toss jackfruit with cayenne pepper, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and crushed black pepper.
  3. For baking, preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 10-12 minutes. For air frying, air fry for about 5 minutes.
  4. Prepare the batter by whisking flour, unsweetened plant milk, baking soda, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  5. Coat each jackfruit piece in the prepared batter and then roll in remaining flour.
  6. Heat canola oil in a frying pan and fry jackfruit pieces for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Toss wings in BBQ or buffalo sauce and serve with your favorite dips.
