Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Samosa Pie
  1. In a large stockpot, heat ghee or butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the chopped onion and cook for about 20 minutes, stirring frequently until caramelized.
  2. Add chopped jalapeño and minced garlic to the pot. Stir continuously for about 1 minute to blend the flavors.
  3. Stir in ground chicken, garam masala, turmeric, and salt. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking apart the chicken until cooked through.
  4. Add diced potatoes and water, stir, cover, and simmer for about 25 minutes until potatoes are tender.
  5. Mix in green peas and minced cilantro. Allow filling to cool slightly.
  6. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Transfer filling to a baking dish, roll out puff pastry over the filling and cut slits for steam vents.
  7. Bake for about 25 minutes until the crust is golden brown and flaky.
