Preparation Steps
  1. Press the firm tofu between layers of paper towels for about 15-20 minutes to absorb excess moisture.
  2. Slice the tofu into even cubes, approximately 1-inch in size.
  3. Toss cubed tofu with cornstarch in a mixing bowl until evenly coated.
  4. Let the coated tofu sit for about 5 minutes.
  5. Heat about 1/4 cup of neutral oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Fry the tofu cubes for about 3-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Combine sweet soy sauce, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes in a separate bowl.
  8. Add the fried tofu to the pan with the prepared glaze and toss to coat.
  9. Let the mixture cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  10. Remove from heat and let the glazed tofu rest on a wire rack for 5 minutes.
  11. Serve warm, garnished with optional toppings.
