Ingredients
  

For the Batter
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter can be substituted with salted butter if you omit additional salt
  • 4 oz Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar (60% cocoa) chocolate chips can be used as a substitute, but ensure they have the same cocoa percentage
  • 2 large Eggs no substitutions recommended
  • 1/4 cup Sugar using fine sugar or baker’s sugar allows for better mixing
  • 1/4 cup All-Purpose Flour gluten-free flour can be substituted, but adjustments may be needed for texture
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder make sure to use a fresh batch for maximum effect
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract may be omitted if unavailable
  • 1 pinch Salt can be skipped if salted butter is used
To Serve
  • 1 scoop Vanilla Ice Cream creamy accompaniment
  • 1/2 cup Raspberries adds a burst of flavor
  • Chocolate Shavings optional garnishes

Method
 

Directions
  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine unsalted butter and semi-sweet chocolate. Heat in the microwave on medium power, stirring every 30 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and glossy, about 1–2 minutes total.
  2. Using an electric mixer, beat 2 large eggs until frothy and double in volume. Gradually add fine sugar while mixing until it dissolves completely.
  3. Carefully pour the melted chocolate and butter mixture into the beaten eggs and sugar. Gently fold together until thoroughly combined.
  4. Sift in all-purpose flour and baking powder, along with a pinch of salt and vanilla extract. Mix gently until just combined.
  5. Preheat your Air Fryer to 375°F (190°C). Grease four 4oz ramekins with butter.
  6. Pour the batter into the greased ramekins, filling each one about three-quarters full.
  7. Place the filled ramekins in the Air Fryer basket ensuring space between each. Air fry for 7-9 minutes depending on desired gooeyness.
  8. Once cooked, carefully remove ramekins and allow to cool for about 2 minutes before inverting onto a plate.

Notes

For a perfectly molten center, bake for 7 minutes; extend the time to 9 minutes for a thicker texture. Allow cakes to cool for 2 minutes before serving.
