Step-By-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a separate bowl, combine the milk, melted unsalted butter, and large eggs. Whisk these ingredients together until fully combined.
- Gradually pour the wet mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir gently until everything is just combined.
- Gently fold in the diced apples using a spatula or wooden spoon.
- Using a large spoon or cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of the batter onto your prepared baking sheet.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake your fritters for 12-15 minutes.
- While your fritters cool slightly, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and optional vanilla extract.
- After letting the baked fritters cool for a few minutes, dip each one into the glaze.
- Return the glazed fritters to the baking sheet to let the glaze set for a few minutes.
