Ingredients
  

For the Fish
  • 1.5 lbs White fish fillets or salmon as a substitute
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp Chili powder adjust to taste
  • 0.5 tsp Cumin skip for milder tacos
  • 0.25 tsp Garlic powder fresh garlic can be used
  • 0.25 tsp Onion powder substitute with fresh onion
  • 0.25 tsp Smoked paprika regular paprika for less spice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 whole Lime juiced
For the Slaw
  • 0.5 head Green cabbage shredded
  • 0.25 head Purple cabbage
  • 1 large Carrot shredded
  • 0.25 cup Cilantro chopped
For the Dressing
  • 0.25 cup Mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp Lime juice to taste
  • 1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Honey or agave nectar
  • 0.5 tsp Dijon mustard
For Assembling
  • 12 pieces Tortillas corn or flour, gluten-free available
  • Optional toppings avocado, pico de gallo, sour cream, hot sauce

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Prepare marinade by whisking olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Marinate fish by coating fillets in the prepared marinade and juice of one lime; cover and set aside for 15-30 minutes.
  3. Cook fish in a non-stick skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Prepare slaw by combining green cabbage, purple cabbage, carrot, and cilantro in a large bowl; toss well.
  5. Make dressing by whisking together mayonnaise, lime juice, apple cider vinegar, honey, and Dijon mustard in a separate bowl.
  6. Chill slaw in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
  7. Warm tortillas in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds on each side, until soft.
  8. Assemble tacos by placing fish on warmed tortillas, topping with slaw and optional toppings.
