  • 1 cup glutinous rice flour Do not substitute with regular flour.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 cup whole milk Can substitute with almond or oat milk.
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter Melted; can be replaced with coconut oil.
  • 1 large egg
For the Strawberry Glaze
  • 1/2 cup strawberry puree Can use lemon juice for a twist.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together glutinous rice flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well-combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix whole milk, melted unsalted butter, and large egg until smooth.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until a smooth batter forms.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep saucepan over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fill a piping bag with batter and pipe donuts into the hot oil, frying for 3-4 minutes each.
  6. Remove donuts from oil and place on a cooling rack lined with paper towels.
  7. In a small bowl, mix strawberry puree with powdered sugar until smooth.
  8. Dip each cooled donut into the glaze and place on a cooling rack to set.
  9. Once set, serve warm or at room temperature.
