Ingredients

For the Base
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries Opt for ripe strawberries; can substitute with raspberries or peaches.
  • 2-3 whole lemons Use fresh lemons for juice to ensure brightness; bottled lemon juice can be used.
  • 1/4 cup sugar or honey Adjust based on personal preference after blending.
  • 1 cup cold water Use cold water for a refreshing taste.
For the Frosty Texture
  • 2 cups ice Adjust if using frozen strawberries.

Equipment

  • Blender

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by rinsing about 2 cups of ripe strawberries under cool water, removing any stems. Slice them in half to assist with blending.
  2. Take 2 to 3 fresh lemons and roll them on the countertop to loosen the juices. Cut each lemon in half and squeeze until you have about ½ cup of fresh lemon juice.
  3. In a blender, combine the prepared strawberries, freshly squeezed lemon juice, ¼ cup of sugar or honey, and 1 cup of cold water. Blend on high speed for about 30 seconds until smooth.
  4. Gradually add about 2 cups of ice to the blender, blending on high for another 30 seconds or until thick and slushy.
  5. Taste the Frozen Strawberry Lemonade and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar or honey if needed. Blend briefly to mix any adjustments.
  6. Pour the Frozen Strawberry Lemonade into chilled glasses. Garnish with a slice of lemon or a fresh strawberry, and serve immediately.
