Dough
  • 1 batch Brioche Dough or any enriched dough recipe
Filling
  • 2 cups Apple Pie Filling homemade or store-bought
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar light brown sugar preferred
  • 2 tablespoons Cinnamon Ceylon cinnamon recommended
  • 1/2 cup Toasted Pecans optional, can substitute with walnuts
Frosting
  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese can substitute with Greek yogurt for a lighter version

Method
 

Dough Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ingredients for the brioche dough, mixing until smooth. Allow to rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1-2 hours.
Apple Filling
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook until apples soften, about 5-7 minutes, then cool.
Assembly
  1. Roll out the brioche dough on a floured surface into a rectangle. Spread the filling mixture, layer on apple filling, and sprinkle with pecans. Roll tightly and slice into sections.
Second Rise
  1. Place the cut rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise until puffy, about 1 hour.
Baking
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and the top is slightly crisp.
Frosting
  1. Let rolls cool for 10 minutes, then drizzle with cream cheese frosting.
