Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 pounds of ground chuck, 1 packet of ranch seasoning mix, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Gently mix until just combined.
- Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and shape each into a loosely formed patty, about ¾ inch thick with a slight indentation in the center.
- Sprinkle both sides of each patty with salt and black pepper before cooking.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 400°F). Cook patties for about 6-7 minutes, then flip and cook for another 6-7 minutes.
- For pan-searing, heat a cast-iron skillet. Cook patties for 5-6 minutes on each side until a nice crust forms and the center reaches 160°F.
- Melt a tablespoon of butter in a skillet and toast the cut sides of the buns until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers starting with a toasted bun, then add a patty and your choice of toppings.

Notes
Keep the meat tender by mixing just until combined and avoid pressing down on patties while cooking to maintain juiciness.
