- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8-inch square baking pan by greasing it with butter or lining it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, and ground cloves until evenly combined.
- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar for about 3-4 minutes, then add the molasses and eggs, mixing until fully combined.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, mixing on low speed until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
