Preparation Steps
- Begin by cutting the vanilla or pound cake into 1-inch cubes. Allow the cake to be slightly stale for optimal layering.
- Take a few cake cubes and place them at the bottom of each glass, creating a base.
- Add a generous spoonful of vanilla custard or pudding on top of the cake layer in each glass.
- Layer in fresh mixed berries on top of the custard and drizzle with cranberry sauce if desired.
- Dollop whipped cream over the top layer of fruit and save some for decoration.
- Continue layering: cake cubes, custard, berries, cranberry sauce, and whipped cream until glasses are nearly full.
- Add a swirl of whipped cream on top of each trifle, sprinkle with chopped pistachios and red and green sprinkles, and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
- Place the assembled trifles in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to chill before serving.

Notes
Use slightly stale cake cubes for easier layering. Chill time is essential for flavor melding. Serve in clear cups to showcase layers.
