Ingredients
  

For the Crab Mixture
  • 1 lb Lump Crab Meat Fresh is best, but canned can substitute.
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Make sure it's softened.
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream Can swap half for Greek yogurt.
  • 1 tbsp Old Bay Seasoning Mix paprika, celery salt, and black pepper if unavailable.
  • 2 tbsp Chives Can swap with green onions or parsley.
  • 1 large Egg Use a flax egg for vegan option.
For the Crust
  • 1 cup Panko Bread Crumbs Regular breadcrumbs can work but won’t be as crispy.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese Freshly grated is ideal.
For the Dipping Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream Base for dipping sauce.
  • 2 tbsp Chives Can use dill or parsley for variation.
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice Freshly squeezed for best flavor.
  • 1 tbsp Old Bay Seasoning

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 24-cup mini muffin pan with cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the lump crab meat, softened cream cheese, egg, one-third of the Parmesan cheese, Old Bay seasoning, sour cream, lemon zest and juice, cayenne, and chives.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the remaining Parmesan cheese, panko bread crumbs, and melted butter.
  4. Press the panko mixture firmly into the bottom of each muffin cup.
  5. Transfer the crab mixture into each muffin cup over the panko crust.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until tops are golden brown and centers feel firm.
  7. Mix the remaining sour cream, chives, lemon juice, and Old Bay seasoning to prepare the dipping sauce.
  8. Cool the bites slightly before serving with the dipping sauce.
