  • 1 lb Ground Beef or ground turkey/plant-based as substitute
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
For the Sandwich
  • 4 slices Thick Bread Texas Toast recommended
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese or ricotta
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar or Pepper Jack
For the Flavor
  • 2 pcs Roasted Jalapeños or fresh jalapeños
  • 1 cup Caramelized Onions prepared in advance
Finishing Touches
  • 2 tbsp Butter for toasting
  • 2 tbsp BBQ Sauce optional

Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, mixing until well incorporated. Form the mixture into two evenly-sized patties, approximately ¾ inch thick. Set aside.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of oil. Place the patties in the hot skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, until browned and firm. Remove and let rest.
  3. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with shredded cheddar or pepper jack until smooth and fluffy. Set aside.
  4. On a slice of thick bread, spread a layer of the cheese mixture. Place one patty on top, then layer roasted jalapeños and caramelized onions. Cap it with another slice of bread.
  5. Melt butter in the skillet over medium-low heat. Place the sandwich in the skillet, pressing down gently. Toast for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Slice the Jalapeño Popper Patty Melt in half and serve immediately. Drizzle BBQ sauce if desired.
