  • 1 cup Water Use filtered water for clean flavor.
  • 1 cup Sugar Can substitute with agave or honey.
  • 2 stalks Lemongrass Chopped into pieces for infusion.
For the Drink
  • 1 cup Fresh Lime Juice Use fresh juice for best taste.
  • 1 cup Sparkling Water Chilled for optimal fizziness.
  • 1 cup Fresh Basil Leaves Can substitute with dried basil.
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar (optional) Adjust sweetness to taste.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Prepare lemongrass syrup by combining water, sugar, and chopped lemongrass in a saucepan. Heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix fresh lime juice with the prepared lemongrass syrup in a large pitcher to create limeade. Adjust sweetness if desired.
  3. To serve, fill glasses halfway with limeade and top off with chilled sparkling water. Balance the ratio to achieve desired taste.
  4. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and a slice of lime before serving cold.
