Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly and press into a greased baking dish.
  3. Bake the meatloaf for 20 minutes until it firms up and browns slightly.
  4. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  5. In a medium saucepan, melt butter until bubbly, stir in flour to create a roux, then whisk in milk until thickened.
  6. Stir in paprika, dry mustard, and shredded cheese until melted and smooth.
  7. Gently fold the cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce, then pour over the meatloaf in the baking dish.
  8. Sprinkle any remaining cheese on top of the macaroni layer.
