Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, around 400°F (200°C), for about 10-15 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, mix together ¼ cup of pure maple syrup, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, and freshly cracked black pepper to taste. Stir until well combined and set aside.
- Cut 4-6 slices of cooked bacon in half. Wrap each salmon fillet with the halved bacon pieces, covering the top completely. Secure with toothpicks if needed.
- Drizzle the marinade over the bacon-wrapped salmon fillets, ensuring even coating on all sides. Allow to marinate for 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Place the fillets bacon-side down on the grill. Grill for 5-6 minutes, checking for caramelized crust and char marks on the bacon.
- Carefully flip the salmon fillets and grill for an additional 4-5 minutes until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
- Remove the salmon from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and serve with lemon wedges.
