Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Set a timer for about 10 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, Chinese five-spice powder, and sesame oil for the marinade.
- Place your chicken thighs in a large resealable bag and pour half of the marinade over them. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Reserve the remaining marinade in an airtight container in the fridge.
- After marinating, let the chicken sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange the marinated chicken thighs on the baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan and simmer over medium heat for about 10 minutes until it thickens.
- Brush the thickened marinade over the chicken and broil for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes
Marinate longer for deeper flavor and do not flip the chicken while baking for even cooking.
