  • 1 cup Diced Onion
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic
  • 2 cups Marinara Sauce
For the Lasagna Layers
  • 12 noodles Lasagna Noodles no-boil or gluten-free for convenience
  • 15 ounces Ricotta Cheese
  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese softened
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 3 cups Mozzarella Cheese shredded
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese grated
For Binding
  • 2 large Eggs
For Garnish
  • 1 cup Fresh Basil substitute with dried if needed

Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Million Dollar Lasagna
  1. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water. Set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and ground Italian sausage, breaking apart with a wooden spoon, for about 8 minutes. Add diced onion and minced garlic, cooking for 3 minutes. Stir in marinara sauce and let simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, blend ricotta cheese, softened cream cheese, sour cream, and eggs until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer 1 cup of meat sauce, 4 noodles, half of the cheese mixture, half of the meat sauce, a third of mozzarella, repeating until all layers are finished. Top with remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
  5. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 25 minutes. Remove foil to brown cheese for an additional 20 minutes.
  6. Let lasagna rest for 15 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
