Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat over medium heat for about 5 minutes. Add your ground beef (or chosen substitute) to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for 6–8 minutes, stirring frequently, until browned.
- Carefully drain the excess fat from the skillet, leaving about a tablespoon for flavor. Return the skillet to medium heat.
- Add the chopped onions and bell peppers. Sauté for 4–5 minutes until onions are translucent and peppers are tender.
- Pour in the tomato sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well and season with salt and pepper. Simmer for about 10 minutes while stirring occasionally.
- Melt a tablespoon of butter in a separate skillet over medium heat. Toast the buns cut side down for 2–3 minutes until golden brown.
- Fill each toasted bun with the sloppy joe mixture and serve warm with your choice of sides.

Notes
Ensure tomatoes are drained well to avoid a watery mixture. Adjust consistency by adding water or broth if necessary.
