  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Paste Fresh minced garlic is a fantastic alternative.
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger Paste Use freshly grated ginger for more flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil Canola oil works for a milder flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust based on your preference.

  • 1 cup Hot Water Use broth for added flavor.
For the Wrapping and Cooking
  • 1 package Dumpling Wrappers Wonton wrappers can also be used.
  • 2 tablespoons Neutral Oil Avocado or vegetable oil are excellent options.
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth or Water Vegetable broth works for a vegetarian approach.
For the Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons Sliced Green Onions Fresh touch to your dish.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, shredded cabbage, and shredded carrots. Stir in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, garlic paste, ginger paste, sesame oil, salt, and white pepper, mixing until just combined. Pour in hot water to moisten the filling; it should be slightly sticky. Set the mixture aside as you heat the skillet.
  2. Place a large non-stick skillet over medium heat and add 1 to 2 tablespoons of neutral oil. Allow the oil to heat up, shimmering slightly, which should take about 2 minutes.
  3. Using a tablespoon or small ice cream scoop, portion the filling into the skillet, spacing them evenly apart. You'll want about 6-8 mounds.
  4. Carefully take your dumpling wrappers and place one over each mound of filling, gently pressing down to ensure a good seal.
  5. Once your dumplings are snugly wrapped, pour chicken broth or water around the edges of the skillet to create steam.
  6. Cover the skillet tightly with a lid and let the dumplings steam for 5-7 minutes.
  7. After steaming, remove the lid and check that the internal temperature of the filling reaches at least 165°F (74°C) using a meat thermometer.
  8. Carefully transfer your Savory Viral Blanket Dumplings onto a serving plate. Garnish with sliced green onions and a drizzle of chili crunch. Pair with your favorite dipping sauce.
