Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan, melt 1/3 cup of unsalted butter over medium-high heat.
  2. Add 1/2 diced yellow onion, 1/2 diced green bell pepper, and 1/2 diced red bell pepper to the melted butter. Sauté for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Pour in 3 1/4 cups of low-sodium chicken broth, along with 1 1/4 teaspoons of kosher salt, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon of ground thyme, and 1 teaspoon of paprika.
  4. Once the broth is boiling, add 1 cup of long-grain white rice. Stir into the mixture and cover.
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat after cooking, let it rest for 10 minutes, then fluff the rice with a fork.
