Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 pound of ground beef, 1 cup of breadcrumbs, 1 beaten egg, and your favorite seasonings like garlic powder and salt. Mix with your hands until well combined but avoid overmixing to keep the meatballs tender.
  2. Take a handful of the meatball mixture and flatten it slightly in your palm. Place a cube of mozzarella cheese in the center and carefully fold the meat around the cheese, rolling it into a ball about the size of a golf ball. Set aside on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the formed meatballs directly in a skillet or bake them on the baking sheet for approximately 20-25 minutes.
  4. While the meatballs are cooking, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add 8 ounces of spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
  5. In the same pot with the drained spaghetti, pour in 2 cups of marinara sauce and toss them together over low heat until well coated, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Transfer the saucy spaghetti to a serving dish, and nestle the cooked meatballs on top. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley.
