Step-by-Step Instructions for Easy Sticky Char Siu Chicken
  1. In a large bowl, mix together soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil until well blended. Add the chicken and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare the baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  3. Place the marinated chicken pieces skin-side up on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  4. Brush the remaining marinade over the chicken during the last 5 minutes of baking for an extra sticky finish.
  5. For crispy skin, broil the chicken for an additional 1 to 2 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.
