- Gather your balsamic vinegar and optional sweetener like honey or maple syrup. Measure about a cup of balsamic vinegar.
- Pour the balsamic vinegar into the medium saucepan and place it over medium heat. Allow it to come to a gentle simmer.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook, stirring occasionally until it thickens, about 10-15 minutes.
- Remove from heat. If desired, whisk in honey or maple syrup for additional sweetness.
