Step‑by‑Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking sheet by lining it with foil.
- In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté diced yellow onions for about 5-7 minutes until tender and golden.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine sautéed onions with ground beef, bread crumbs, beaten eggs, whole milk, salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, half of the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and fresh parsley. Mix gently but thoroughly.
- Transfer the meat mixture to the prepared baking sheet, shaping it into a log or loaf about 2 inches high with a slightly flattened top.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining ketchup and brown sugar until smooth. Spread this mixture over the shaped meatloaf.
- Cover the baking sheet loosely with foil and bake for about 45 minutes to an hour. Ensure the internal temperature reaches at least 160°F (70°C).
- Once baked, allow the meatloaf to rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing to retain juices.
- Slice the meatloaf and transfer to a serving plate. Optionally, sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.
